NLP provided a $2,000,000 construction loan and a $1,040,000 permanent loan to finance a much-needed affordable housing development in Kissimmee, Florida called Cameron Preserve Apartments.
The 100-unit development has 50% or more of its units set aside for homeless families. In this case, the majority of "homeless" families are working families that were living in substandard motels along highway 192 because of the lack of affordable housing options.
Cameron Preserve offers families a sense of permanency. Amenities include a pool, clubhouse, fitness center, playground, and computer lab. Services to be provided at no cost to the tenant include employment counseling, health and wellness services, financial management to help participants learn how to save and repair credit, and individualized case management.
NLP partnered with developer Deion Lowery, Florida Housing Finance Corporation, Osceola County, and Boston Financial to make this development a reality.
